Weber State's Caleb Whitney made history by claiming the Big Sky title in the men's Decathlon Wednesday and Thursday at the 2021 Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships. WSU is the host of this year's championship at the Chick Hislop Track at Stewart Stadium.

The Wildcats finished first, second and sixth in the event to total 21 points. Jed Smith was second with Jakob Person finishing sixth.

Whitney led with 3,778 points after the first day of action Wednesday and kept things going on Thursday. He won the title in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.69, then took second in the discus at 123-08. He was third in the pole vault with a mark of 14-09.50, took fourth in the javelin at 145-11 and finished the day by taking seventh in the 1500 meters at 5:09.10. In the ten events, he was first in four and was in the top three in nine.
