Seven Wildcat men's athletes qualify for NCAA West Preliminary Round

NCAA West meet is May 26-29 in College Station, Texas.
The Weber State men's track and field team has seven athletes that have qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round meet, looking to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
The NCAA West Preliminary Round will be held May 27-29 in College Station, Texas, hosted by Texas A&M. The meet includes those athletes in the top 48 in each event in the western United States. The top 12 from each event at the meet will advance to the NCAA Championships which will be June 9-12 in Eugene, Oregon.
Three of the Wildcats that qualified won Big Sky Championships last weekend at the conference meet, hosted at Stewart Stadium.
Bronson Winter is the highest ranked Wildcat in an event. He enters the meet ranked 15th in the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase with a seasonal best time of 8:44.99. Winter won the Big Sky title in the 800 meters last weekend.
Xakai Harry is 17th in the long jump. He won the conference title and set a school record in the event last week with a jump of 25-06.
Two Wildcats qualified in the pole vault. Trey Deveraux is 23rd at 17-05 and Lachlan Burns is 30th at 17-02.75. Burns won the Big Sky title in the event last week and Deveraux and Burns rank first and second respectively in school history in the event.
Cody Canard is ranked 32nd in the javelin with a seasonal best mark of 214-00.
Two Wildcats will also be competing in the 10,000 meters. Christian Allen is 33rd in the event with a time of 28:54.58 and Taylor Dillon is 48th at 29:08.13.
