Damian Lillard wins Olympic gold with Team USA

Lillard is the first athlete in Weber State history to win a gold medal.

From Weber State to Olympic gold! Weber State legend Damian Lillard and Team USA won a gold medal with a win over France at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. 

Lillard is just the second Weber State athlete to ever compete in the Summer Olympics and the first to win a gold medal. He is just the third athlete in Big Sky history to win an Olympic gold medal and the first in men's basketball. 

He also is the first men's basketball player from a university in the state of Utah to compete in the Olympics. 

Lillard scored 11 points with two 3-pointers and had three assists as Team USA beat France 87-82 to claim the gold. He averaged 11.2 points per game and knocked down 14 3-pointers in the five games at the Olympics.
