Mental is the 12th head coach in Weber State's Division I history.

Mickey Mental was officially introduced to the public Wednesday as the 12th head football coach in Weber State's Division I history. He was named the head coach of the Wildcats on Tuesday, following a national search.

Mental spent the 2022 season as the WSU offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Prior to coming to Weber State, he was the head coach at Division II Notre Dame College where he posted a 16-2 record.

In his first season at Weber State, Mental, 37, helped lead Weber State to a 10-win season, including an FBS win over Utah State. The Wildcats advanced to the second round of the FCS Playoffs and were nationally ranked all season.

The Wildcat offense ranked in the top 25 in the nation in scoring offense, rushing offense, first downs, and third down conversion percentage, and had seven players earn All-Big Sky Conference honors.

Mental will continue as the offensive coordinator, in addition to head coaching duties.
