Weber State head coach Jay Hill has announced a new assistant coach and coaching assignment adjustments for the Wildcat football program.

Hill has named David Fiefia as a new assistant coach at Weber State. He will coach the Wildcat tight ends and help coordinate special teams.

In addition, other coaching assignments have been adjusted. Skyler Ridley will now coach the WSU wide receivers, in addition to serving as the special teams coordinator. Andre Dyson will continue his role as cornerbacks coach in a full-time benefited position. Robert Conely takes over as the recruiting coordinator and will continue to coach the WSU running backs. And James Cowser is now the assistant defensive line coaching focusing on the defensive ends.

Fiefia, a native of West Valley City, Utah, comes to Weber State after spending the last seven seasons at Idaho State. He was the Assistant Head Coach for the Bengals for the last five years and coached tight ends and running backs during his time at ISU.

He was a four-year player at running back at Utah State from 2000-03. He earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors in 2003 as an all-purpose player and second-team honors at running back. He rushed for 1,193 yards and nine touchdowns in his career with the Aggies and had 80 receptions for 707 yards and two touchdowns.

After graduating, he was a graduate assistant at Utah State for three seasons, assisting with the running backs.

"David has been one of the top assistant coaches in the Big Sky Conference the last few years," Hill said. "We have had had numerous recruiting battles with him where I saw what a great recruiter he is. He has established outstanding relationships with his players and has a great football mind. He will be a huge asset to our program moving forward."

Skyler Ridley is in his seventh season at Weber State. He spent the last three seasons coaching the tight ends and in 2021 was named the Special Teams Coordinator.

Andre Dyson returned to Weber State prior to the spring 2021 season for his second stint at Weber State. He has coached the Wildcat cornerbacks the last two seasons. The former NFL player spent three seasons from 2009-11 as an assistant coach at Weber State under head coach Ron McBride.

Robert Conley is in entering his third season at Weber State. He joined the staff in January 2021 and coaches the Wildcat running backs.

James Cowser is entering his third season at Weber State. He has spent the last two years as an assistant defensive coach. He is a former Big Sky Defensive MVP at Southern Utah and finished his career as the FCS all-time leader in sacks and tackles for loss. After his college career, Cowser spent three seasons in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders from 2016-18.
