Outside Hitter Peterson Transfers to Weber State Volleyball

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State Wildcat volleyball announced the addition of outside hitter Mia Peterson on Tuesday morning.
"We are excited to have Mia as a part of our program," head coach Jeremiah Larsen said of the program's newest addition. "She adds depth to our outside hitter position, she is a hard worker, and we look forward to helping her grow."
Peterson joins Wildcat volleyball after spending two years at New Mexico State. She redshirted in her first year in Las Cruces and played in 52 sets last season for the Aggies, totaling 67 kills and 76 digs during her time on the floor.
A native of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Peterson played at Pleasant Grove High School and was named to the First Team All-State in 2019 and in 2021. She was part of the state championship winning team in 2019 and was later named a Prep Volleyball Honorable Mention All-American.
Peterson, a redshirt sophomore, comes to Weber State having already played with several Wildcats who are currently on the roster. Ashley Gneiting was a high school teammate of Peterson's, and Baylee Bodily played club volleyball with Peterson, as well.
Listed at 5'11", Peterson brings height, experience, and loads of athleticism to an outside hitter group that has plenty of new faces. In their most recent recruiting class, the Wildcats signed outside hitters Ali Weist and Nana Asiata, and are getting Nicole Headrick back after she served an 18-month mission for her church.
"I'm super excited to move back home and play with some of the girls that I played with in club and in high school," Peterson said of transferring to Ogden. She also mentioned that she admires the culture that WSU has built, loves the state of Utah and is excited to come back home.
