Kyle Thompson named Big Sky Player of the Week

Thompson made three field goals for the second-straight week Saturday at Eastern Washington.
After knocking down three field goals for the second-straight week, Weber State junior Kyle Thompson has been named the Big Sky Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.Â
Thompson earned the award after his performance in Weber State's road game at Eastern Washington.Â
He was 3 of 3 on field goal attempts and made two extra points in Saturday's game in Cheney.Â
He made a 44-yard field goal in the first quarter, a 40-yard attempt at the end of halftime, and a 34-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter that cut the EWU lead to one point.Â
On the season, Thompson is 9 of 12 on field goal and has made seven of his last eight attempts. He also is a perfect 18 of 18 on extra-point attempts. He also has a career-long this season of 52 yards against Northern Arizona.Â
The American Fork, Utah native has played in 38 games over the last four seasons at Weber State and has 44 made field goals, the fifth-most in school history. He has also totaled 258 career points, which ranks fourth in school history in scoring.Â
Weber State is off this week and returns to action on November 4 at Idaho State. The Wildcats will play their final home game on November 11 against Idaho.Â
