Wildcats Struggle in Washington

2/23/2023 10:11:00 PM | Women's Basketball

CHENEY, Wash. – Weber State women's basketball opened up its final road trip of the season with a 65-31 loss to Eastern Washington at Reese Court.

A lid was on the basket for the Wildcats from the start. Weber State went into the half trailing 24-12 and shot 22% from the field. Jadyn Matthews led the Wildcats with six points heading into the break.

Matthews got back on the board just a minute into the second half to help an improved WSU offense, but the Eagles couldn't be stopped on the night. Kaiija Lesane tallied two buckets in the third quarter, but EWU held a 24-point advantage going to the fourth.

The Wildcat offense put up an additional 10 points in the final frame, but WSU struggled to hit shots throughout the game. EWU defended its homecourt with the 65-31 victory.
