Shorthanded Wildcats Drop Final Regular Season Road Game

MOSCOW, Ida. – Weber State women's basketball closed out its final road game of the season with a 77-52 loss on the Palouse to the Idaho Vandals.
A shorthanded Wildcat team got out of the gates well offensively in Moscow. The 'Cats held several early leads but Idaho got hot towards the end of the first quarter and nabbed an 18-10 lead at the end of the period.
A Kaiija Lesane jumper with 7:19 left in the first half cut the deficit to just six points, but Idaho started to pull away again. The Vandals extended their edge to 14 points as the horn sounded for halftime, Idaho leading 42-28.
Idaho pulled away by as much as 22 points in one segment of the third, but Weber State scored five points in the waning seconds of the period to make the score 57-41 following a Laura Taylor three pointer and a Charlotte Hegvold buzzer-beating layup.
The Vandals pulled away in the fourth to close out the 77-52 victory at home.
