Wildcats Drop Game on Senior Night

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State women's basketball closed out the regular season with a 66-57 loss to the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks.
The Wildcat offense was clicking in the first quarter and the 'Cats had a 20-19 lead at the end of one. Weber State was led by Jadyn Matthews who scored nine points of 4-6 from the field. Neither offense was gelling in the second quarter, however, and the 'Jacks nabbed the lead heading into the locker room at 29-28.
WSU outscored NAU in the third quarter to knot the game up. Matthews added an additional six points into what was one of the better nights of her career. The two sides rolled into the fourth quarter tied up at 46.
A pair of Ava Williams free throws with 7:31 left in the game tied things up at 49, but NAU got hot from there. The Lumberjacks went on a 17-8 run to close out the game and win 66-57.
NOTABLES
-Williams tied her career high with 14 points.
-Matthews closed the game out with 19 points and 11 rebounds, leading the team in both categories.
-The Wildcats celebrated the careers of Williams and Vicky Parra for senior night.
-Weber State closes the season with a 6-24 (2-16) record.

The No. 10 Wildcats will be facing the No. 9 Northern Colorado Bears in the first round of Big Sky Conference tournament in Boise, Idaho. The tournament will be held in Idaho Central Arena in downtown Boise. Weber State and Northern Colorado will tip off on Saturday, March 4 at 12 PM. The game can be seen on ESPN+.
