Ogden, UT – It was a slow start for the Weber State women's basketball team against the Idaho State Bengals on Feb. 4 at the Dee Events Center.

Jadyn Matthews kicked off scoring for the Wildcats with an early jumper, giving the 'Cats their only lead of the first half.

Tamali'i Fonoti followed Matthews with a layup but the 'Cats couldn't catch the Bengals. Idaho State out ran Weber State with a 9-4 lead headed into the second quarter.

It was all ISU with the Bengals going on a 16-4 run to take a 29-16 lead into the half.

Headed into the third quarter, the 'Cats progressed in shooting, making 71.4% of their attempted free throws against the Bengals 50%.

The Wildcats outscored the Benglas 14-13 in the final quarter but ultimately fell short 57-41.

Daryn Hickok led the team with nine points, Matthews was close behind with eight and Laura Taylor had seven.

The 'Cats collected 12 points from turnovers along with 17 points off the bench.

Weber State advances to 5-17 overall and 1-9 in conference. The 'Cats are back at it next week, hosting the University of Northern Colorado on Feb. 6.
