OGDEN, Utah – Head Coach Jenteal Jackson and Weber State women's basketball announced the hiring of Hillary Carlson as an assistant coach earlier this week.

"Hillary is a tremendous addition to our staff, program, and Wildcat nation," Jackson said of her new assistant. "She brings a lot of experience, knowledge, and expertise. She exudes the qualities and characteristics that we want to cultivate within our program. I'm so excited she'll be joining us here at Weber State and I can't wait to get to work with her."

Carlson joins the Wildcats after having spent the previous four seasons at the Air Force Academy. Under her tutelage, Falcon post players saw significant growth in rebounding and production, and Air Force's program reached new heights with Carlson on the staff.

Before her time in Colorado Springs, Carlson was at Central Washington where she helped guide the Wildcats to two-straight winning seasons, including an 18-11 mark in the 2018-19 season.

A Cheyenne, Wyoming native, Carlson started her coaching career at Central High School in her hometown. Under her direction, the school qualified for four consecutive state tournaments.

"I am very grateful for this opportunity to be a part of Weber State athletics," Carlson mentioned of her appointment to Jackson's staff. "I'm excited to have the opportunity to serve alongside Coach Jackson and positively impact lives and assist in elevating the Wildcat women's basketball program."

Prior to her coaching career, Carlson played professionally for a couple of years. Her pro career started in Lisbon, Portugal where she played for Quinta do Lombos Athletic Club, and followed that up with a season playing for Nunawading Basketball Club in Melbourne, Australia.

She played collegiately in her home state for the University of Wyoming where she was a three-time All-Conference selection in the Mountain West. As a senior, Carlson starred for Wyoming and averaged 17.3 ppg and 7.2 rpg.
