New east stands, new field, and new track are being installed at Stewart Stadium.

OGDEN - Football season is getting closer and construction continues at Stewart Stadium in preparation for the 2023 season.

The east stands of the stadium are being completely rebuilt to enhance the fan gameday experience. Construction on the project began in January. In addition, a new field and new track will be installed.

The new east stands will be split into two levels with a walkway and concourse in between the levels that will include concessions. The new restrooms on the top of the stands will remain in place. The new stands will update one of the oldest remaining structures on the Weber State campus.

The new field design will include the new enhanced cathead logo in the middle of the field and will have purple in both endzones with the word "Wildcats" in gray. The track will be gray with purple exchange zones.

The field and track were previously updated in the summer of 2011.

The Wildcat football team opens the 2023 season with a home game on Thursday, August 31 against Central Washington. It is anticipated that all fans will be seated on the west side of the stadium for the first game, with the east sides opening for the second game on September 23 against Montana State.

The WSU football team will hold all of fall camp on the lower practice fields on the WSU campus. The lower practice field has also been redone with the same field turf that will be installed at the stadium.
