Saturday, September 23, 2023, marked the grand opening of the newly renovated Elizabeth Dee Shaw Stewart Stadium on the campus of Weber State University. The evening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting of the new facility.

The stadium, originally known as Wildcat Stadium, was one of the original buildings on the new Weber State campus and opened in 1953 with a small section of seating on the east side. The west stands were opened in 1966. The stadium was renamed Stewart Stadium, and with the generous support of the Stewart Education Foundation, the Stadium SkySuites opened in 2021.

The stadium was been the home of Weber State football and Wildcat track and field for many years.

In 2023, the east stands were entirely rebuilt to enhance the fan gameday experience. A new field was installed and the Chick Hislop Track was replaced with a brand new track.

Saturday's football home game with Montana State was the first game in the newly completed facility.

Prior to kickoff, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held with Weber State University President Dr. Brad Mortensen cutting the ribbon. He was joined in the ceremony by Vice President Dr. Norm Tarbox, Athletic Director Tim Crompton, representatives of the Stewart Education Foundation, family members of legendary track and field head coach Charles "Chick" Hislop, members of the WSU Spirit Squad, and others.
