After 27 years working in many roles, including football head coach and athletic director, Jerry Graybeal is retiring from Weber State Athletics. Graybeal looks back on his career in this 'Cat Tales podcast.

OGDEN - Jerry Graybeal was hired as the seventh head football coach at Weber State on December 24, 1997. Now 27 years later and after having worked in a variety of positions, including the athletic director, Graybeal is retiring at Weber State at the end of 2024. 

Over the last several years, Graybeal has been the Associate Athletic Director for Development where he has been influential in numerous fundraising efforts for Wildcat Athletics, including fundraising for facilities. He has also been the color commentator for Wildcat football radio broadcasts. 

He was the head football coach for seven years from 1998-2004 and was the Director of Athletics at Weber State from 2005-09. 

In this 'Cat Tales podcast with Athletic Director Tim Crompton and Director of Athletic Communications Paul Grua, Jerry talks about his many roles over the last 27 years at Weber State, including head football coach for seven years and athletic director for four years. 

He reminisces about his start at Weber State, coaching days, former players, moving to athletic director, coaching hires, development for athletics, donors, facility changes, radio broadcasts, memorable games, golf, future plans, his family, and much more.
