Wildcats Drop Game to Lumberjacks

Weber State is back in the Dee Events Center on Feb. 3 for a game against the Northern Colorado Bears.
Ogden, UT – The Weber State women's basketball team fought to the end against the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks on Thursday evening, but ultimately fell by a score of 65-85.
The Lumberjacks got out to a hot start in the first quarter with a 16-4 lead. A Daryn Hickok jumper cut the deficit to 12 points prior to the end of the quarter, 6-18.
Weber State cut the deficit to five points at the start of the second quarter, and then the Wildcat offense caught fire. Weber State outscored Northern Arizona 21-16 in the second quarter to trail the Lumberjacks by seven points to end the half.
The Weber State offense stayed strong in the second half, scoring 22 compared to the Lumberjacks 24 points. Great performances by Hickok and Kendra Parra helped keep the Lumberjacks lead to under ten going into the fourth quater.
Into the final frame, the last five minutes proved to be what the Lumberjacks needed to solidify their position in the game. Northern Arizona's 27 points in the fourth quarter pulled them away from the Wildcats and wrapped up the night with an 85-65 victory.

"I really like the fight that we have now, we're stepping on the court and giving everyone our best punch every night. I thought we did a lot of really good things tonight and I felt good about that," stated head coach Jenteal Jackson.

Weber State is 3-6 on the season.
Four Wildcats were in double digits on the night.
Kendra Parra led Weber State in scoring with 15 points.
Amelia Raidaveta recorded 11 points and eight rebounds.
