Wildcats drop early lead, fall to Vandals

The loss dropped the Wildcats to 7-19 overall and 4-9 in the Big Sky.
Ogden, UT – Junior Kendra Parra finished with a team-high 16 points while freshman Taylor Smith shared game-high honors with eight rebounds. Visiting team Idaho posted a 60-47 victory over Weber State at the Dee Events Center.
Ball control was a strength for Weber State coming into the game and the Wildcats built their five-point lead in the first quarter. The Wildcats shot 50 percent from the field (7-of-14) compared to the Vandals 23.1 percent (3-of-13). Weber State ended the quarter with the advantage, 19-14.
Improved shooting in the second quarter for the Vandals gave them their first lead over the Wildcats, 26-24. Kendra Parra put up a 3-pointer for Weber State to trail the Vandals by two at 29-27. However, Idaho held onto the lead to end the half 31-28.
Weber State tried to mount a comeback in the second half, but the Vandals had stretched it to a seven-point lead at 46-39 to end the third quarter. With baskets hard to come by in the final frame for the Wildcats the team put up only eight points. Down by ten with under four minutes of game play left, an Idaho 3-pointer and layup pulled the Vandals to a 60-47 victory over Weber State.

Notes:
- The Wildcats were best offensively in the first quarter shooting 50 percent from the field. Throughout the remainder of the game the 'Cats shot under 30 percent.
- Weber State went 3-4 in the first quarter in 3-pointers at 75 percent.
