Jones averaged 25 points, 15.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game in the final three games of the regular season. It's his 16th career player of the week honor.
After a historic performance in three games to end the regular season, Weber State's Dillon Jones has once again been named the Big Sky Player of the Week. It's his eighth Big Sky Player of the Week honor this season and the 16th of his career.Â
In three games, Jones averaged 25 points, 15.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists to end the regular season.Â
He tied his career-high with 30 points, had 23 rebounds, and tied his career-high with nine assists in Weber State's overtime win over Northern Colorado on Thursday. It was the first 30 points, 20+ rebound game in the history of the Dee Events Center. The 23 rebounds are the most in a game by any player in the country this season. He's the first player in the country to post 30 points, 23 rebounds, and nine assists in a game since at least the 2010-11 season. He also played all 45 minutes in the game and had three steals and was 11 of 11 from the free throw line.Â
Jones followed that up with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists in Saturday's win over Northern Arizona. It was his 18th double-double of the season, tied for the sixth-most in the country.Â
He scored 24 points with nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals in Monday's game at Montana State.Â
He shot 49 percent from the field and was 19 of 21 from the free throw line in the three games.Â
After the regular season, Jones leads the Big Sky in points, rebounds, and assists, the only player in the country to lead a conference in all three categories. He is also one of two players in the nation averaging at least 20 points,10 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. He is seventh in the nation with 18 double-doubles this season and ranks 16th in the country in rebounds and 17th in scoring. He is also seventh in the nation in minutes played.Â
Per Sports Reference, since the 1992-93 season, Jones is one of two players in the country to post at least 600 points, 300 rebounds, 150 assists, and 50 steals in a season. Ben Simmons at LSU in 2015-16 is the only other player to post those numbers.Â
Jones is Weber State's all-time leader in steals and ranks second in assists, second in free throws made, third in rebounding, and fifth in points.Â
Weber State finished the regular season at 20-11 overall and finished fourth in the Big Sky at 11-7. As the No. 4 seed, Weber State will take on No. 5 Montana State on Monday, March 11 at 5:30 p.m. in the first round of the Big Sky Tournament in Boise, Idaho.Â
