Wildcats are 22nd in HERO Sports preseason rankings

Weber State opens the season August 31 at Washington.
Weber State football is 22nd in the 2024 HERO Sports Preseason Top 25 rankings.Â
The Wildcats are one of six teams from the Big Sky Conference in the top 25 rankings. Montana, Montana State, Idaho, and Sacramento State were all in the top 10 of the rankings, and UC Davis is 21st. Â
Weber State is coming off its ninth straight winning season last year and won the final three games of the season, including a win over fourth-ranked Idaho.Â
Head coach Mickey Mental returns for his second season as head coach of the Wildcats. WSUÂ
Weber State opens the 2024 season on August 31 at Washington. WSU will also play non-conference games at Lamar and Northwestern State, and a home game against McNeese.Â
The Big Sky season includes home games against Portland State, Northern Colorado, Idaho State, and Cal Poly, and road games at Montana, Sacramento State, Northern Arizona, and Idaho.Â
