Weber State places 87 on spring 2024 Academic All-Big Sky list

A total of 87 Weber State student-athletes have earned Big Sky Academic All-Conference honors for the spring 2024 season. The 87 Wildcats come from the sports of softball, men's golf, women's golf, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's outdoor track and field, and women's outdoor track and field.Â
The Wildcat women's track and field team had 29 student-athletes on the list, with men's track posting 22. The WSU softball team had 16, followed by eight for women's tennis, five for women's golf, four for men's golf, and three for men's tennis.Â
WSU had 80 honors from the fall sports, 70 from the winter sports, and 89 from the spring, giving the Wildcats 239 total academic-all-conference honors for the 2023-24 academic year.Â
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team's competitions; 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution.Â
For outdoor track only, student-athletes may participate in at least half of the team's competitions or the conference championship.

Softball pitchers can be considered for the award if they competed in at least 30 percent of their institution's games.
