No. 19 Cougars top Wildcats in Ogden

OGDEN - The Wildcat volleyball squad dropped a three-set match to the No. 19 BYU Cougars on Friday evening.

SET 1 | The Wildcats kept it competitive in the first set, taking the lead at 13-9. Chipping away at the 'Cats lead, BYU earned five straight points and it was quickly tied up 15-15. The WSU lead was lost following another five-point run by the Cougars and the set ended in favor of the blue and white, 25-20.

SET 2 | The second set saw much of the same, with both squads staying competitive. BYU started to pull away after a trio of points but a couple of big kills made by Jayda Tupea and Kate Payne kept the 'Cats within three trailing the Cougars. Ultimately, BYU pressed on and captured the second set 25-20.

SET 3 | With the match on the line, WSU was looking to stay alive in the third. However, the Cougars commanded an advantage early on and maintained that lead throughout to take another set victory and 3-0 sweep over the Wildcats.
