Wildcats Head Into Winter Break After Strong Fall Season

OGDEN – The Weber State women's golf program heads into the winter break having completed a strong fall season, bringing much promise as the team looks forward to the 2026 spring season.
The Wildcats won twice and finished in the top-three in three of four events during the fall and posted a 75.86 win percentage. As the fall rankings released, the Wildcats posted five players inside the top-800 in the nation, with four coming inside the top-700.
Weber State opened the fall season back in September with its first of three podium finishes with a third place at the Wolverine Invitational at Talons Cove Golf Club. The Wildcats shot a 9-under par total of 855, led by Cala Korman, who finished fifth overall at 5-under par 211.
The following week, the Wildcats hosted the Utah Fall Intercollegiate at Wolf Creek Resort Golf Course and earned the first of two tournament wins, finishing 18 shots ahead of second place Utah Tech. Jade Gruher finished in second place overall at 1-over par 217, while Emily Song and Korman also earned top-5 finishes.
Following a seventh place finish in a 15-team field at the Harbottle Invitational, the Wildcats closed out the season with their second team championship, shooting 880 at the Sun Mountain Intercollegiate in Missoula, Mont. Song led the way for the scoring team, shooting 1-over par 217 to tie for second place. Song finished three shots back of teammate Braylyn Bayer, who earned individual medalist honors with a 2-under par 214 while competing in the event as an individual.
Over the season the Wildcats posted a 298.15 team stroke average.
Gruher led the team over the four-event season, posting a 73.0 stroke average and a national rank of 595.
Song was second on the team in the rankings, coming in at #631, and was third on the team in scoring at 73.18.
Bayer finished second on the team in scoring average at 73.13 and her win at the Sun Mountain Intercollegiate vaulted her into a ranking of 637.
Korman completed the season ranked 683rd and posted a stroke average of 73.73, while Sofia Fuenmayor came in at #792 and recorded a 74.27 average.
Freshman Adley Nelson made her mark on the team in her first season with the Wildcats, qualifying for the the scoring team lineup in all four tournaments and posted a 75.0 stroke average.
The Wildcats will be back in action when the spring season gets underway in February at The Classic Club in Palm Springs, Calif. for the Boise State Mountain Classic Match Play event.
