OGDEN, Utah – Weber State women's golf head coach Rich Friend has announced the signing of Vienna Scheffer of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada to the program during the recent signing period.
"We are so excited to have Vienna join our Weber State family," said Friend. "She fits what we want in a student-athlete. She loves to compete. She flew under the radar because she only competed in the U.S. once, but she won that event and we are eager to watch her grow as an athlete with our program."
Scheffer comes to Weber State from Royal Bay High School, where she has lettered in golf each of the past three seasons. She helped lead Royal Bay to titles at the 2025 Island and Lower Island championship tournaments and to a seventh place finish at the British Columbia School Sports 3A Provincial Championships. She also helped her team to the championship title at the 2025 Victoria Police Department Tournament.
She was a Victoria Zone 5 Girls Champion from 2023 to 2025, finished second at the Notah Begay Canadian Championship in 2025, and tied for 20th at the British Columbia Women's Amateur. She also earned championship titles at the Lake Spanaway Golf Club RMJT tournament, the NB3 Washington Regional, and the Victoria Police Department High School tournament.
Scheffer is a senior at Royal Bay with one more high school season this coming spring and will join the Wildcats for the 2026-27 season.
