Weber State University President Brad Mortensen's last day at the university was on November 7.Â
Mortensen was the 13th president of Weber State, serving from 2018-25. He worked at the university for 21 years.Â
He was very involved in athletics at Weber State and served in multiple leadership roles with the Big Sky Conference and the NCAA.Â
He attended nearly every Wildcat athletic event he could and traveled multiple times with several Wildcat teams. He also attended several practices and participated in an activity with each team. He was a tremendous support to Wildcat athletics. Â
During his tenure, Weber State captured two Big Sky Presidents Cups (2019, 2024), an award given each year that recognizes a member school's overall success in the classroom and athletic competition. The Wildcats also captured multiple Big Sky regular season and tournament titles under his leadership.Â
Mortensen has accepted the position of president at his alma mater, Utah State University.Â
Leslie Durham has been named the interim president of Weber State.Â
