Malek Gomma named Big Sky Player of the Week

After his career performance in leading the Wildcats to a road win, Weber State junior center Malek Gomma has been named the Big Sky Player of the Week.

Gomma earned the honor for his performance in WSU's win at Kansas City last week.

He had career-highs and his first career double-double in leading Weber State to the 64-60 road win on Wednesday.

He scored 19 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, both career-highs in the win. He was 9 of 13 from the field and also tied his career-high with three assists. He pulled down six offensive rebounds.

On the season, Gomma ranks third in the Big Sky in rebounding at 7.6 per game.

Weber State plays next at Utah Valley on Wednesday night before returning home to host Utah Tech on Saturday.
