Munier-Bailey was taken with the second pick by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.
Weber State football senior Kemari Munier-Bailey is heading to Canada. Munier-Bailey was selected with the second overall pick by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Tuesday's CFL Global Draft.Â
The CFL Global Draft is a selection of non-Canadian and non-American players by the Canadian Football League. The 2025 draft is the fifth draft to pool all global players together.Â
Munier-Bailey is a native of Birmingham, England. Winnipeg selected him as the second pick of the first round of the global draft.Â
In his one season at Weber State in 2024, Munier-Bailey earned All-American and All-Big Sky honors.Â
He previously played at Idaho and Fresno State and transferred to WSU prior to the 2024 season. He started all 12 games for the Wildcats and was named to the FCS Central All-America Third Team and also earned second-team All-Big Sky honors.
He finished the season second in the conference and ninth in the nation in tackles for loss. He had 18.5 tackles for loss, which is tied for the sixth-most in a season in WSU history. He was also second in the Big Sky and 20th in the country in sacks with nine, tied for the ninth-most ever in a season.Â
He recorded at least one sack in six of the 12 games and finished with 50 total tackles, with 31 solo and 19 assisted tackles.Â
He had a career game in WSU's shutout win at Northwestern State, where he finished with eight tackles, six tackles for loss, and three sacks, and was named the National Defensive Player of the Week for his performance.Â
Munier-Bailey played in 42 career games over four seasons at Idaho, Fresno State, and Weber State.Â
He is the first Wildcat selected in the CFL Global Draft. In its history, Weber State has had 27 players selected in the CFL Draft.Â
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers also added another former Wildcat on Tuesday as they signed Marque Collins to a free agent contract.Â
Collins was a part of WSU's program for six years from 2018-23 and was an All-Big Sky performer. He played in 46 career games as a Wildcat and was a part of three Big Sky Championship teams. He posted 19 career pass breakups with five interceptions.Â
He spent the 2024 season at BYU, where he played in all 13 games for the Cougars and had two interceptions with nine pass breakups. Â
