Continuing a tradition established last year, the Young Automotive Group partnered with Weber State Athletics to provide eight athletic department coaches with leases to Hyundai Tucsons for a year at Young Hyundai on June 26.
"We're thrilled to celebrate the partnership we have with Weber State in a meaningful way," said John Burgett, general manager of Young Hyundai. "These coaches are beacons in our community, and they invest so much in the success of local students. It's an honor to provide them with these awesome vehicles, and we're excited to see them on the road."
An event that featured speeches from Burgett, Young Automotive Group area director Curtis Groft and Weber State's athletic director Tim Crompton, the following coaches were awarded vehicles:
Each Tucson was fitted with a signature wrap — representing brand elements from the Young Automotive Group and Goldenwest Credit Union. Those in attendance also had access to catering from the food truck Los Tapia Kitchen.
"It makes such a big difference for us," said Morgan about the vehicle giveaway. "It helps us with recruiting, it helps make Weber State recognizable, and we couldn't be more grateful for our partnership with Young Automotive. All the time driving around this last year, I would have kids waving, or I'd pick up my little boy and people would be like 'oh my gosh, we see those trucks everywhere.'"
Known for sponsoring several of the school's most prominent athletic contests, the Young Automotive Group first awarded vehicles to coaches during 2024 at Young Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Morgan — providing recipients with Jeep Gladiators. These vehicles were driven for personal use, as well as to attend coach's show events at Young Automotive Group locations and charitable gatherings held by the dealership business' non-profit, the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation.
"We are incredibly grateful for the immense support the Young family provides, often behind the scenes, to our department," said Tim Crompton, the university's athletic director. "Their partnership, particularly with our coaches' vehicles, has been strong for years, and we are truly fortunate for its continuation. The Young family and Young Automotive Group are long-standing, valued members of our community, and we are excited to celebrate our collaboration."
