Wildcats drop road matchup against Vandals

MOSCOW, Idaho - Weber State women's basketball dropped a 95-76 road contest to the Idaho Vandals this Saturday afternoon.Â
Idaho established an early lead in the first half, using a seven-point run to pull ahead of Weber State 12-6. The Vandals maintained this advantage, ending the first quarter up 33-19. Idaho then extended its lead to start the second quarter with a 9-0 run. While the Wildcats responded with a 7-0 run, the Vandals still held a 14-point advantage. Hannah Robbins closed out the half with a jumper, making the score 56-42.
Despite the deficit, Weber State shot 52 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc while Antoniette Emma-Nnopu led the team with nine points.
The Wildcats made their comeback in the third quarter, scoring 25 points to narrow the deficit to 12. However, in the final frame, Lanae Billy, Sydney White and Robbins all ended up in foul trouble. Ultimately, Weber State scored just nine points in the quarter, and the Vandals secured the 95-76 victory.
The Wildcats were without Makenna Shaffer-Lauer, who was out this road trip due to an injury.
