Weber State looks to continue its undefeated start to Big Sky play

OGDEN, Utah — The Weber State women's soccer team takes its three-game winning streak back on the road Thursday, traveling to Portland State for a Big Sky Conference matchup at Hillsboro Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. MT, with the match available on ESPN+.

The Wildcats enter Thursday's match at 7-5-2 overall and 3-0-1 in Big Sky play after opening conference action unbeaten through their first four matches. Weber State has won its last three contests, including a 5-0 shutout of Utah Tech and a 1-0 victory over Southern Utah.

Weber State's defense has been a major part of that recent success. The Wildcats have recorded shutouts in each of their last two matches, with goalkeeper Lauren Butorac making two saves, including a penalty-kick stop, in Sunday's victory over Southern Utah.

On the attacking side, Lily Blum has continued to lead the way for the Wildcats. Blum scored the game-winning goal against Southern Utah in the 72nd minute off an assist from Isabelle Dahl and currently leads Weber State with seven goals and 16 points this season.

The Wildcats will face a Portland State team entering Thursday's match at 2-9-0 overall and 0-2-0 in conference play. The Vikings return to action after an 11-day break, having last played Oct. 4 in a 1-0 loss to Southern Utah. Portland State opened Big Sky play with a 2-1 loss at Utah Tech.

Thursday will be the 32nd meeting between Weber State and Portland State, with the Vikings holding a 13-12-6 advantage in the all-time series.

The Wildcats will look to continue their strong conference start and extend their current winning streak when the teams meet in Hillsboro.
