‘Cats suffer loss to Vandals in Ogden

OGDEN - Weber State women's basketball suffered an 80-67 loss to the number one-ranked Idaho Vandals this Thursday evening at the Dee Events Center.
Weber State started strong, hitting three consecutive 3-pointers to take a 14-10 lead against the Vandals. The Wildcats maintained their edge, extending the lead to 18-14 before ending the first quarter with a 26-24 advantage.
Idaho gained the lead in the second quarter, utilizing a 7-0 run to move ahead 40-36. While Weber State managed to tie the score at 46-46, the Vandals finished the half on top 52-46.
Weber State was shooting 51.5 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from beyond the arc (10-15) headed into the half.
Idaho held onto its lead in the third quarter, outscoring Weber State 18-14 to enter the final frame up by 10 points. Both teams had a low-scoring fourth quarter, with the Vandals recording 10 points to the Wildcats eight. Ultimately, Weber State couldn't overcome the deficit, and the game ended with a score of 80-67.
