Wildcat Trio Earns All-Big Sky Conference Honors

FARMINGTON, Utah – The Weber State trio of Jade Gruher, Cala Korman and Sofia Fuenmayor each received All-Big Sky Conference honors on Sunday as the league announced its all-conference teams and individual award winners.
Gruher received Second Team honors after earning a national ranking of 581 and posting a team-best stroke average of 72.90 for the year. She posted six top-20 finishes over the season. She was in the top-10 four times, including a runner-up finish at the Utah Fall Intercollegiate and a third place at the Lady Thunderbird Invitational.
Korman and Fuenmayor each received Honorable Mention honors.
Korman ranks 770 nationally and recorded a 74.09 stroke average. She finished in the top-20 six times, which included a pair of season-best fifth place finishes. She also led the team at the Mountain Classic Match Play, winning all three of her matches for a full three points.
Fuenmayor posted a 74.26 stroke average and ranks 785th nationally. She was in the top-20 five times this season, including a career-best third place finish at the Red Rocks Invitational, where she carded two rounds of 3-under par 69 en route to a 4-under par total of 212.
Northern Arizona's Lizzie Neale has been named Big Sky Conference Player of the Year, snapping a six-season streak by Sacramento State of having an individual claim the title. Neale is ranked No. 179 in the NCAA, finishing the regular season with a scoring average of 71.6 for the 'Jacks.
Sacramento State's Sophia Lee has been named the league's Freshman of the Year, following an impressive campaign for the Hornets.
The awards come ahead of the Big Sky Conference Women's Golf Championships, which begin on Monday morning at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
