2022 Indoor
Competed at the Big Sky Indoor Championships and broke her own school record score in the Pentathlon with 3700 points. Her 4th-place was just 40 points short of a 2nd-place finish and just 3 points shy of the 3rd-place finisher. During the meet she also competed in the High Jump, finishing 12th, and on the 4x400 and DMR teams.

Competed in the pentathlon at the Big Sky Championships and placed 3rd with a PR total of 3598 points earning a 1st place finish in the 800 event... Competed in 3 other events at the Big Sky Championships including participation on the 3rd place finishing distance medley relay team


2019 Outdoor

Competed at the Big Sky Championships in two events...Finished 16th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.29...Was also a part of WSU’s 4x400 meter relay team...Had a career-best time of 1:01.50 in the 400-meter hurdles at the BYU Robison Invitational to finish fourth overall...Was also second at the Weber State Twilight Meet and third at the Utah Spring Classic...Earned Academic All-Conference honors in General Studies.

2019 Indoor
Competed in all six meets for the Wildcats including three events at the Big Sky Championships...Finished ninth in the pentathlon with a career best total of 3424 points...This ranks as the sixth best in school history...Ran as part of the 4x400 and Distance Medley Relays at the conference meet...Also set three personal records in the high jump, 60 hurdles and long jump at the conference meet...Took third in the pentathlon with a personal record mark of 35'8" in the shot put at the Ed Jocoby Invite with 3353 points...With a time of 2:20.32 in the 800 meters was the fastest on the team.

2018 Indoor
Competed in six meets for the Wildcats, including the Big Sky Championships...Finished ninth in the pentathlon at the Big Sky Indoor meet with a total of 3,273 points...That total ranks as the 10th best in Weber State indoor history...Also took third in the pentathlon at the Snake River Open and was fourth in the Mountain State Games. 

Prep Career
Emily was a three time state champion in three different events--the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and the 400m dash (2015-2017). She also finished runner-up in 200m dash three times at the state championships. All together, she was a 9-time state champion and earned all-state on 13 occasions. Heptathlon champion at the 2016 and 2017 BYU Multi Meet and the 2016 Desert Hills Multi and Distance Carnival. PR of 3959 in the heptathlon. She also finished 13th at the 2016 State Cross Country Championships. Her high school PRs were 57.51 in the 400m, 44.46 in the 300m hurdles, 15.77 in the 100m hurdles, and 26.08 in the 200m dash--all four are school records at Milford High. 1A State Record Holder in the 300m Hurdles and the 400m Dash.

Personal
Born on February 18. Parents are Chris and Stacy Barnes. Has four siblings: Nathan, Bryson, Blake, and Colton. Majoring in Health Sciences. While in high school, also participated in volleyball, basketball, cheer, drill team, and golf.
