Craig Stutzmann returns for his second season on the Wildcat coaching staff. Stutzmann joined the WSU staff in the spring of 2012 and coaches wide receivers at Weber State.
During his first season with the Wildcats he coached Xavian Johnson, who earned Honorable Mention Big Sky All-Conference honors.
Before coming to Weber State Stutzmann spent the 2011 season as an assistant coach at Rhodes College, a Division III school in Memphis. Prior to that he was a graduate assistant coach at the University of Memphis.
Stutzmann has coaching experience in the Big Sky Conference as he spent the 2009 season as the wide receivers coach at Portland State. Prior to working with the Vikings he was a graduate assistant wide receivers coach in 2008 at his alma mater, the University of Hawaii.
Stutzmann played college football at Hawaii, where he played wide receiver from 1998-2001 under coach June Jones. He finished his career fifth in school history in career receptions with 177 catches for 2,025 yards and 18 touchdowns in 46 career games. He earned All-WAC honorable mention honors in 1999 and 2000. He was a team captain as a senior and graduated from Hawaii with a degree in Political Science in 2002.
Following one season of playing for the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League (2002), Stutzmann became a teacher and football offensive coordinator at Kalaheo High School in Hawaii in 2003. He then moved to St. Louis High School in 2004 where he was the head junior varsity coach for four seasons. St. Louis won the Hawaii junior varsity state championships in 2006 and 2007.
Stutzmann and his wife Briana have one son, Baylor.
