The 2025 season was the first year for former Wildcat standout Keilan Benjamin on the Weber State coaching staff. He joined the WSU staff as an assistant coach in February 2025 and coached the Wildcat cornerbacks. 

In his first season at Weber State he coached Montae Pate to first-team All-Big Sky honors.

Benjamin played two seasons at Weber State from 2017-18, and was a part of two Big Sky Championship teams and two trips to the FCS Playoffs. The Wildcats posted a record of 21-7 in those two seasons, including a 14-2 Big Sky record, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs in 2017. 

He earned first-team All-Big Sky honors as a senior in 2018. He played in 25 games in his two seasons with the Wildcats and recorded 13 pass breakups and seven interceptions. He also had 110 tackles with 12.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. He had five interceptions as a senior in 2018 to earn All-Big Sky first-team honors. 

Since leaving Weber State, Benjamin spent two seasons as a quality control coach for Weber State from 2022–23, and spent the 2024 season with the Ogden Jets coaching the cornerbacks and assisting as the defensive coordinator.  

The Richmond, California native graduated from Weber State in 2023 with a degree in Professional Sales.
