McKay finished his four-year career at Weber State in 2017. He twice earned All-Big Sky honors, including first-team honors as a senior. In his four years at Weber State, Murphy played in 38 career games and totaled 106 career tackles with 19.5 tackles for loss and five career sacks.
2017 (Senior)
Earned first-team All-Big Sky honors on the defensive line, helping Weber State to a Big Sky title and its best season in school history...Started all 14 games for the Wildcats and finished fifth in the Big Sky in tackles for loss with 14...Totaled a loss of 48 yards on tackles for loss...Had a season-high 3.5 tackles for loss at Cal...Also had 4.0 sacks on the year, third most on the Wildcat team...Had two sacks in a win at Cal Poly, one at Cal and one at Southern Utah in the FCS Playoffs...Totaled 40 tackles on the season with 16 solo tackles...Had a season-high six tackles at Cal...Also had three pass breakups and one quarterback hurry...Had a two-point conversion reception in WSU’s win at Sacramento State and had one forced fumble in the playoff win at Southern Utah.
2016 (Junior)
Returned from an injury and earned All-Big Sky Honorable Mention honors in 2016, helping Weber State to the FCS Playoffs...Started all 12 games at defensive tackle for the Wildcats and totaled 37 tackles with 11 solo and 26 assisted tackles...Had a season-high six tackles in WSU’s win over Portland State...Also had 3.5 tackles for loss on the season and one sack...Also recorded two pass breakups.
2015 (Sophomore)
Missed the entire 2015 season with an ACL injury suffered during spring 2015 camp.
2014 (Freshman)
Played in all 12 games as a red shirt freshman with the Wildcats after joining the team in the summer of 2014...Recorded 29 tackles on the year with nine solo and 20 assisted tackles...Had a season-high five tackles against Cal Poly...Also had two tackles for loss on the year...Recorded three quarterback hurries and one pass breakup...Also had a 17-yard reception on a fake punt at nationally ranked Montana State.

Lone Peak High School
Earned First Team All-Region honors in 2009 at Lone Peak High School...Was also named an All-Valley Honorable Mention selection...Recorded 77 tackles with nine sacks as a senior.
