Sara (Federico) Hogue was named head coach of the Weber State women's golf team during the summer of 2016 after serving as the interim head coach of the program following the passing of Director of Golf Jeff Smith in January of 2016.

Prior to being named as the interim head coach, Sara served as an assistant to Smith for three seasons.

Sara has led the Wildcats to a top-four finish at the Big Sky Conference Championships three times in her helm, including back-to-back third-place finishes in 2022 and 2023.

In 2022-23, the Wildcats posted the program's best stroke average in school history with a 299.48 mark. The team recorded eight top-five finishes in 10 tournaments. Five of those top-five's were in the top-three, including a win and a pair of runner-up's.

The Wildcats set a program's all-time tournament scoring record in 2023 with a 6-under par total of 858 at the Timpanogos Collegiate, where the team finished in fifth place. It was the first time in program history that the team posted a total score under-par. The 858 beat the previous record of 873 by 15 shots. The previous record was set in 2022 at the 2022 Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational.

Hogue has led the Wildcats to two full-field tournament titles since taking over as head coach, most recently at the 2022 Eagle Invitational at Indian Canyon Golf Club in Spokane, Wash.

Sara led the Wildcats to the team title at the inaugural Kelsey Chugg Invitational in 2021, hosted by the Wildcats at Wolf Creek Golf Club in Eden, Utah. The Wildcats shot a three-round total of 898 for a 24-shot margin over second place Northern Colorado in the nine-team field. Weber State's Taitum Beck finished as the individual medalist in the tournament, shooting a 2-over par 218.

The Wildcats have also won a pair of titles in small-field events under Federico. The Wildcats took the three-team Battle at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Nevada in March of 2020, where Gabby DeNunzio was the individual medalist and Morgan Bentley finished as runner-up. In 2019, WSU was victorious at the Battle of I-15 at Juniper Hills CC in Pocatello, Idaho a Nassau-type scoring event against Idaho State and Westminster College. 

After taking over as interim head coach, Hogue led the Wildcats to a fourth-place finish at the 2016 Big Sky tournament, the program's first top-four finish at the event in seven seasons.

Sara is a former member the Wildcat women's golf team, having played four seasons from 2009 to 2013. As a player, she posted six top-20 finishes, including four inside the top-10.  She had a career-best sixth place finish in the 2012 Wildcat Invitational at Davis Park Golf Course. As a freshman in 2010, she led the team with a 15th place finish at the Big Sky Conference Golf Championships.

Sara is married to Dustin Hogue and the pair have a daughter, Jayla.
