- Mental Performance Coach
Riley Jensen joined the Weber State Athletic Department in April 2018 as a Mental Performance Coach for Wildcat student-athletes.Â
In his role, Jensen works with all Wildcat coaches and student-athletes to teach the concepts of resilience, confidence, positivity, grit, and personal mastery.Â
Jensen currently works with USA Archery (Para), Westminster College Basketball, Rowmark Ski Academy, Peak Ski Academy, Juan Diego Baseball, East High Basketball, Hillcrest Basketball, Alta Wrestling, and Olympus Lacrosse. He also tutors various individual athletes from the pro, collegiate, and high school ranks, and works with corporate athletes from the Utah Jazz ticket sales department, Boston Scientific, Wise Company, Fusion Imaging, Tiny Hero Foods, and NorQuinn.Â
Jensen has been playing or coaching high school and collegiate football for more than 27 years. Over the past seven years, he has been part owner and co-founder of the Mountain West Elite sports camps which operate in several states.
Jensen earned first-team All-American honors at Snow Junior College and then transfered to Utah State where he started at quarterback. He was recently named to the Snow College Football Hall of Fame. He has also spent time as a coach at North Carolina State and has coached high school football at Cottonwood, Olympus and Alta.
He earned a B.A. from Utah State University and completed his M.S. in Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Utah. He studied under the world-renowned tutelage of Dr. Nicole Detling, and interned with Utah’s football and tennis teams.
Jensen currently lives in Salt Lake City. He and his wife Georgann have two children Alexis (5) and Jack (3).
