Elizabeth Dee Shaw Stewart loved her alma mater. She and her husband, Donnell Stewart, were unfailingly generous in providing financial support for Weber State University.

Elizabeth was always insistent that the students at WSU would have access to the very best education possible. She directed funds to establish scholarships, provide equipment, library resources and other academic support.

The Stewarts funded capital projects which are icons on the WSU campus today, including the Stewart Library, the Stewart Bell Tower, Dee Events Center, Elizabeth Dee Shaw Stewart Stadium, as well as the Elizabeth Dee Shaw Stewart Stadium Sky Suites and Press Box Complex.

The Stewarts’ love of Wildcat Athletics was huge. They were at every Wildcat basketball and football game. Elizabeth especially loved to watch football and never missed a game. The last few years of her life, she attended the games in a wheelchair, cheering the Wildcats on to victory. She loved to watch “her boys” play football.
