Tara Ferrin, along with twin sister Tricia Ferrin, helped Weber State’s women’s soccer squad explode onto the scene in its first years as an NCAA varsity sport.
Ferrin, a local product of Layton High School, earned All-Big Sky Conference First Team honors in 1997 and 1998. As a member of the 1996 inaugural team that transitioned the program from a club sport to varsity status, Ferrin, a 5-foot-8 forward, provided the scoring punch in Big Sky play. Ferrin was named to the Big Sky postseason all-tournament team in 1997 and 1998, and led the Wildcats to a glossy 17-3-0 record and the Big Sky championship in 1998.
Ferrin finished her career as the school’s all-time career points leader (65 points), as the WSU career goals leader (25), and tied for third on the all-time career assists and game-winning goals lists.
