OGDEN, UTAH - Weber State University senior offensive right tackle DAVID HALE (6-6, 305 / Plain City, Utah-Fremont HS) will be a member of the WEST TEAM in this Saturday's (Jan. 19) 83rd Annual EAST/WEST SHRINE GAME. This year's game is being played at the University of Houston's Robertson Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. (CST) and will be carried LIVE on ESPN2.
Hale becomes the ninth player in Weber State football history to be selected for the annual Shrine game and the first since the 2005 season when offensive tackle Paul McQuistan was selected to play in the game. McQuistan is now a starting guard with the Oakland Raiders. Of the nine players from Weber State who have played in the game, Hale and McQuistan are the only two offensive linemen who have played.
Hale was a four-year letterman for the Wildcats. He played in 44 career games and was a starter in 36 of those contests. This past season (2007) he was named First Team All-Big Sky Conference and First Team NCAA Division FCS all-America by the American Football Coaches Association. He was named Second Team all-America by The Associated Press and Third Team all-America by The Sports Network.
