Wildcats Pick Up Road Win at Montana State

After dropping the first set the Weber State volleyball team rallied to win the next three and picked up a 3-1 win over Montana State Friday night in Bozeman, Montana. The win is the third straight for the Wildcats after the 23-25, 25-11, 25-22, 25-21 victory, improving the ?Cats to 13-8 overall and 4-3 in Big Sky action.
The Wildcats finished with 21 more kills than the Bobcats as WSU posted 57 kills on the night. The ?Cats also out hit MSU .198 to .078 and out dug the Bobcats by nine. WSU also finished with 10.5 blocks on the night.
The Wildcats held a 19-18 lead in the first set when MSU closed out the set on a 7-4 run to pick up the win.
Weber State came back strongly in the second set. With the ?Cats leading 5-4 Weber State went on a 14-2 run and never looked back. The 25-11 win was the second biggest win of the season. WSU hit .412 in the set with 16 kills and just two hitting errors, while MSU hit -.029.
The Wildcats won the third set to set up the decisive fourth set. In that set there were 11 ties and five lead changes. The Bobcats led 21-20 when Weber State scored the final five points of the set to secure the victory.
WSU is now 7-1 this season in four-set matches.
The ?Cats were led by senior Brittney Bisaillon who finished with 17 kills and seven blocks. She also moved into third place on the Big Sky career total blocks list. Bisaillon was one of three Wildcats in double figures with kills.
Junior Chelsea Bair posted her Big Sky best 13th double-double this season, finishing with 16 kills and 18 digs. Bair has posted a double-double in seven straight matches and has one in all seven conference matches so far this year.
Leah Burmeister finished with 11 kills and nine digs on the night. Junior Jocilyn Randall had her third double-double of the year, finishing with 34 assists and a career-high 14 digs. She also had three aces on the night, including aces on the final two points of the fourth set to secure the win. Caitlyn Anderson added 17 digs for the Wildcats.
Friday's match was the first of five-straight road matches for Weber State. The ?Cats will play at Montana Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in Missoula.
