Box Score

The Weber State volleyball team won for the fourth straight time, knocking off Montana 3-1 Saturday in Missoula, Montana.  The win improves WSU to 14-8 overall and 5-3 in Big Sky action as the ?Cats defeat the Grizzlies 25-21, 25-17, 23-25, 25-17.  The loss drops Montana to 4-4 in conference play and was their first home loss of the season.

Weber State was led by the Killer B's of Brittney Bisaillon, Chelsea Bair, and Leah Burmeister.

Bair tied for a match-high 16 kills and hit .333.  She also added eight digs, but broke her streak of double-doubles in seven-straight matches.

Burmeister did post a double-double, her fifth of the season as she ended up with 10 kills and 13 digs, along with four blocks.  Her cousin Bisaillon had 14 kills, six blocks, and hit .571 in the match.  Bisaillon also became the 11th player in Weber State history to record 1,000 career kills.  She also moved into third place on the Big Sky's career total blocks list.

The Wildcats finished with ten more kills, and three more digs than the Grizzlies and out hit Montana .242 to .146.

“This was a big win for us, especially on the road because it is always tough to win on the road in the Big Sky,” said WSU head coach Al Givens.  “The team came out ready to play and it was big for us to get off to a great start.  We served the ball well and were very efficient with our hitting.  We're grateful to be able to steal one on the road.”

Montana jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the first set.  From there the Wildcats went on a 13-6 run to take the lead and went on to win the first set.  Weber State never trailed in the second set after hitting .333, compared to just .038 for Montana.  It was just the third time this season the ?Cats had won the first two sets.

The third set had ten ties and five lead changes and Montana broke a 20-20 tie with a 5-3 run to win the set.  Weber State jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the fourth set and never looked back in route to the win.  WSU improved to 8-1 this season in four set matches.

With Saturday's win and Friday night's win at Montana State, WSU picked up a sweep of the Montana State-Montana trip for the second-straight year and just the fourth time in school history.  Saturday's win was just WSU's seventh win ever in Missoula.

WSU is now 5-3 in conference action, now halfway through the Big Sky regular season.  The ?Cats are in the midst of a five-match road trip and will play at Portland State and Eastern Washington next week.
