'Cats Drop Second Straight With 3-1 Loss at Eastern Washington

The
Weber State volleyball team lost a 3-1 match at Eastern Washington Saturday
night, dropping them to 5-5 in Big Sky Conference matches. The Eagles picked up 21-25, 25-15, 25-17,
25-14 victory which improved them to 7-3 in Big Sky play and secured a season
sweep of the Wildcats.
Weber
State won the first set of the match as they hit .257 in the set with just two
errors. However, EWU came back strong
with a .429 percentage and never trailed in route to winning the second set and
even the match.
The
third set was tied early on when the Eagles went on a 17-6 run and never looked
back. They never trailed in the fourth
set to seal the victory, their third straight win over the Wildcats. EWU hit .467 in the final set with 16 kills
and just two errors.
Eastern
Washington finished with 16 more kills, five more digs, and five more blocks
than Weber State. They also out hit the
?Cats .326 to .150 and posted seven service aces.
The
Wildcats were led by senior Brittney Bisaillon who finished with 11 kills and
six digs. Chelsea Bair had nine kills
and eight digs, snapping her streak of 22 straight matches with at least ten
kills.
Jenna
Leggat added eight kills and nine digs and Caitlyn Anderson had 15 digs for the
Wildcats.
Weber
State is now 14-10 overall and 5-5 in conference action, currently tied for
fifth in the league standings. WSU will
wrap up its five-match road trip next Thursday at Idaho State. The ?Cats will return home next Saturday to
host Seattle in a non-conference match.
