Wildcats Fall to Beavers 76-64

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- The Weber State women's basketball team fell to an even 5-5 on the season Saturday night following a 76-64 loss to Oregon State (5-2) at Gill Coliseum.
The Beavers scored the first nine points of the night, and led 20-8 with 13:29 left in the opening half. The Wildcats responded with a 14-2 run, led by Sarah Conner, who scored seven points during the stretch which tied the game at 22-22.
OSU immediately put together another run, jumping back out to a seven point lead and eventually headed into the locker room at the half with a 32-27 lead.
The Wildcats clawed within three points on a Tonya Schnibbe layup with 11:57 left in the second half, but the Beavers used another 15-4 run to stretch the margin to 14 points and the Wildcats would get no closer than seven points the rest of the way.
Conner led Weber State with 18 points on six of nine shooting from the floor. The senior guard added three assists before fouling out late.
Tonya Schnibbe added 17 points and seven assists for the 'Cats, while Caitlin Anderson chipped in with seven points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Talisa Rhea led all players with 20 points for Oregon State. Rhea also grabbed three rebounds and added six assists. Hayden Palmer and Julie Futch each scored 15 points for OSU, while Kirsten Tilleman added 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds to give the Beavers four players in double figure points.
The Wildcats will remain in Oregon for one more game, as they will face Western Oregon on Monday, Dec. 14.
