MONMOUTH, Ore. -- Sarah Conner scored 17 of her team-high 21 points over a seven minute stretch late in the second half to help Weber State pull away from Western Oregon for a 50-44 win on Monday night as the Wildcats garnered their first road win of the season.
Conner scored 17-straight points between the 9:12 and 1:57 marks of the second half, and scored 17 of the team's final 21 points. The senior guard finished the night hitting 7 of 10 shots from the floor, including 3 of 4 from behind the arc.
Abby Thorderson also scored in double figures for the Wildcats with 10 points, and added seven rebounds. Joey O'Neill tied for game-high honors with a season-high 10 rebounds, while Caitlin Anderson chipped in with seven points and 10 rebounds.
Conner's run pulled the Wildcats out of a miserable shooting night. The team finished with a 31.4 percentage from the field, but the squad was just 9 for 41 (21.9 percent) without Conner's 70 percent night.
The Wolves were led by Katie Torland, who scored 25 of the team's 44 points for game-high honors. Torland added 10 rebounds to match O'Neill.
The Wildcats will next head to Laramie, Wyoming to take on the Wyoming Cowgirls on Friday, Dec. 18 at 7:00 p.m..
