PORTLAND, Ore. -- Weber State fell to 8-16 overall and 3-8 in the Big Sky Conference after suffering a 62-49 loss to league-leading Portland State (18-7; 11-1) on Saturday afternoon at the Stott Center.

Portland State used an 11-1 run to take a 29-19 lead with 4:58 left in the opening half. The Vikings then went on a 14-7 spurt to open the second half to lead 49-34 with 10:21 to go.

Sarah Conner hit 6 of 10 shots from the field to lead the Wildcats with 13 points and Ali Thorderson hit three shots from behind the arc on her way to add 11 points. 

PSU's Kelli Valentine fittingly led the Vikings on Valentine's Day with a game-high 14 points and seven rebounds. Kelly Marchant added 10 points and seven rebounds for PSU. Claire Faucher chipped in with eight points, eight assists and seven rebounds.

Weber State will host Montana and Montana State next week at the Dee Events Center.
