'Cats fall 3-1 to 'Jacks

Sophomore left side hitter Bethany Wray led the way for the Wildcats with 11 kills, but Northern Arizona claimed the 3-1 (25-11, 25-10, 23-25, 25-14) victory at the Rolle Activity Center in Big Sky Conference action on Thursday night.
Freshman left side hitter Piper Wahlin added nine kills and redshirt-freshman middle blocker Elli Graff had eight kills and a block assist for Weber State, which dropped to 1-10 in Big Sky play (3-21 overall).
Sophomore middle blocker Carissa Noble had six kills, three block assists and a pair of service aces for Weber State, while junior libero Nina Blake added 10 digs.
After decisive first and second set losses, the Wildcats battled back and forth with the Lumberjacks in the third set. Weber State led 22-19, but Northern Arizona cut it to 25-23 before a kill from Wahlin claimed the set to cut it to 3-1.
WSU started strongly in the fourth set, but NAU gradually pulled away in the middle of the set to claim the match.
Weber State will remain on the road through the weekend, traveling to Greeley, Colo., to meet the Big Sky Conference-leading Northern Colorado Bears. UNC defeated Idaho State in five sets on Thursday night.
