OGDEN, Utah -- Life without Damian Lillard started with a great team effort on Saturday night, as Weber State had five players hit double figure scoring in a 94-54 rout of the University of the Southwest at the Dee Events Center.

Kyle Tresnak led the Wildcats with a career-high 19 points, hitting 6 of 10 shots from the floor and 7 of 8 from the free-throw line. The freshman center also pulled down a career- and game-high 11 rebounds for his first-career double-double.

Hughey got things going for the Wildcats, hitting a game-opening three-pointer 12 seconds into the contest, and Weber State never looked back as the 'Cats started the game with a 13-4 run.

WSU pushed the lead to 21 points on a Tresnak layup with 10:59 left in the opening half, and led 35-14 with 8:40 left in the period.

Scott Bamforth then scored on back-to-back possessions to open up a 16-0 run that was capped by a trey from B.J. Porter that put the Wildca

ts ahead by 38 points.  Weber State went into the break holding a 55-27 lead.

In the second half, the Mustangs pulled within 25 points on a three-pointer by Demetrius Evans, but they would get no closer as the Wildcats went on another run to push the lead out to the final 40-point margin.

The Wildcats shot 50 percent from the floor, hitting 33 of 66 attempts, while holding Southwest to 29 percent shooting.

Michael Darden led the Mustangs with 15 points on 6 of 12 shooting, while Evans added 10 points.

The Wildcats will receive a much tougher test on their season without Lillard on Tuesday, Dec. 21 as they host 16th-ranked Brigham Young at 7:00 p.m.
