This past season Toone earned All-American honors for the second-straight season.  He was named to Sports Network First Team All-American honors and was a unanimous selection to the Big Sky All-Conference First Team.  He earned First Team All-Conference honors as a wide receiver and a return specialist.

As a senior in 2009 Toone led the nation in punt returns with an average of 19.9 yards per return.  He totaled 19 returns for 378 yards and two touchdowns.  He led the Big Sky and was 15th in the nation in receptions per game at 6.9 a contest.  He finished the year with 83 catches for 1,104 yards and ten touchdowns and was third in the conference and tenth in the country in receiving yards per game at 92.  He also finished sixth in the Big Sky in all-purpose yards...

Toone finished his career as WSU's career receiving leader in yards, touchdowns, and receptions.

Toone is the fourth Wildcat picked in the last five years of the NFL Draft.   He is the 36th Wildcat in school history to be taken in the draft.  He was also the third Big Sky player taken in this year's draft.

He is the second Wildcat to be selected with the last pick of the draft, known as Mr. Irrelevant.  In 1998 Cam Qualye was the last pick of the draft, taken by the Baltimore Ravens.
