OGDEN, Utah -- Lindsey Hughey scored a career high 27 points, and Byron Fulton came off the bench to score a career high 17, leading Weber State to an 84-71 victory over Sacramento State Thursday night in Big Sky Conference action. Hughey scored 15 first half points, giving the Wildcats a 42-32 halftime lead. That lead would have been larger if the Hornet wouldn't have made 7-16 (.438) from behind the three-point arc. Sac State came into the game shooting just over 31 percent as a team from the arc. The Hornets ended the game 10-26. Hughey began the second half with a tip in which ignited an 18-8 scoring run by the Wildcats to take a 60-40 lead with 13:34 left. WSU produced its largest lead of
the game, 66-44, with 10:49 left on a free throw by Hughey, then settled in and kept the Hornets at bay for the rest of the night.  Fulton scored 11 of his 17 points in the second half. Fulton played  a career high 27 minutes. He came into the game for Darin Mahoney who played just 11 minutes after a nagging calf muscle injury flared up.

Trevor Morris, who made 6-7 from the field last Saturday night at Northern Arizona, continued his hot hand making 6-8 from the field and scored 15 points. The 'Cats also got 15 points and a game high nine rebounds from Kyle Bullinger.

Sacramento State (3-13 / 0-5 Big Sky) was led by sophomore John Dickson who scored 15 points, and got 10 each from Sultan Toles-Bey and Walter Jackson.

Weber State, playing its first home game since December 21, moves to 8-7 overall and 2-2 in Big Sky Conference play.  The Wildcats host arch-rival Idaho State on Saturday, January 15 at 7:05 p.m. (MST) at the Dee Events Center.
